HOT Word Form Concordance

This resource was built from the "Concordance to the Tanakh" (HOTC) module, which is a modules based on Strong's Hebrew numbering system. Under each Hebrew Lemma, the various word forms of that particular lemma that occur in the Hebrew OT are listed, as well verse references for each occurance of that form in the Hebrew OT.

This module recompiled that same information, by extracting each individual word form and accompanying verse references from the Strongs' entries, and producing a new dictionary that looks up the specific Hebrew word forms rather than the Stong's numbers. The result is that one came look up a Hebrew word in this dictionary simply by clicking on the Hebrew word in the Bible view.

In addition, the information from Strong's dictionary related to the lemma for each Hebrew word form has been added at the top of the module.

The advantage of this module is that it allow one to directly lookup words in the Hebrew OT, find the meaning of those words, and find a list of every other verse in the HOT that uses that particular word form.

MAJOR UPDATE 2.0 - Finally fixed broken reference links, and made major formatting changes.
(אבת problem has been fixed)

What's New in Version 2.0 (See full changelog)

  • This is a major update of the previous module.
  • All incorrect, broken Scripture references cause by difference versification between the HOT and the KJV have been fixed (literally 10s of thousands of corrections)
  • In addition, many improvements in formatting have been made which should make the module much easier to use.
  • This is the version you want...delete the old version (1.0) and replace it with this one

Fixed! Thanks for the "heads up"! I don't want to make you feel bad, Jon, but I think that IS the only such issue. :) That particular record had given me a bit of trouble previously, and even though I fixed the problem I was having with the display, I failed to notice that the links were all broken. Good work tracking it down!

Anyway, I fixed that record. Please let me know if you come across any other issues.

This looks like a great resource - is it possible to have it in Android MySword format? I tried to 'migrate' it myself, but it came out with too many errors. Thanks!
Glad you find it helpful! I have no idea how to migrate modules into MySword though. If you find someone who can help you with that, and they need the source file, I'd be happy to provide it.
Thanks - the only people who can help are on this site. I hope one of them reads this!

You can do this yourself.
Migration tools are available from the MySword site.
Prepare the theWord module:-
From within theWord program, module properties -> settings/actions, Actions. Detect all verse refs. (execute selected action);
From the same place, convert the content to rtf. Make sure the module is not compressed (general section of same tab in properties).
Now you should be able to dnd to the relevant MySword migration tool, and you will have the module.

I have tried it, and the migration worked, but in MySword there does not seem to be a way to use the lookup feature as the Hebrew Bible modules all have vowel pointing but the dictionary does not, and MySword does not seem to have a setting to accommodate that fact.

Jon
Thanks! I'll give it a go.
Just some suggestions.

Detect all the verse references in theWord from the properties page. I chose the option of the Alt key depressed when starting detection as some refs were missed (also I had to run it twice to get all the refs). Convert the module content to rtf from the properties page, and prepare for distribution before uploading. I would also not compress the module in theWord but use 7zip or zip to compress the file for uploading. With 7z I got the file size down to 2791KB. Also I suggest making the Hebrew font size 14 to make it easier to read.

Jon
There are so many errors in this version. I definitely would not rely on this for a concordance. :(
