It was translated from German to English by Alexander Grieve. Published by T & T Clark, 1901.

Notes on theWord module:

1. The Greek and Hebrew text has been converted to Unicode font.
2. All references to the Septuagint Apocrypha, Pseudepigrapha and early church fathers (e.g., Clement of Rome) have been supplied in interlinear format and hyper-linked.
3. All references to the O.T. text have been supplied as links to the Bible module of the user’s choice. In addition, all references to the LXX O.T. text is hyper-linked to the 'LXXA - Greek Septuagint Old Testament with Accents' module available for free download from theWord website (http://www.theword.net). It is recommended that the user install this module as a way to reference the Greek text that Deissmann refers to.
4. Hyper-links have been embedded in the text in places where the author cross-references his own work.
5. Footnotes from the print edition have been collected into a single topic, renumbered in sequence from 1-1254, and hyper-linked.
6. A Table of Contents is included with page numbers to the print edition. That way, the user may check the print or the flip-book edition.
