Two commentaries in one module.

1: Thomas Scott (1747–1821): Scott's 6-volume Commentary on the Bible, first published in America in 1804. This commentary covers the New Testament and the Psalms.

Thomas Scott was an English clergyman who succeeded John Newton (author of "Amazing Grace") in the Olney Parish when Newton moved to London. Scott had been a Unitarian but came to accept Jesus as Redeemer and Lord largely through Newton's influence.

2: William Edwy Vine (1873 to 1949): Commentary on Isaiah.

Vine is most famous for the dictionary that bears his name. Many do not realize that he was also the author of several biblical commentaries. This commentary on Isaiah shows why Isaiah is sometimes referred to as the "Fifth Gospel".

What's New in Version 1.3 (See full changelog)

  • Took the two available separate commentaries and converted them to Tahoma, 10pt; removed much extra spacing (as much as possible); and modernized some spelling. Still needs more work, but this should read much better than what has been previously available.
  • v1.1: Hand edited 1 Thessalonians to remove unnecessary punctuation per today's English and correct some references per the original, obtained from http://www.classicchristianlibrary.com/.
  • v1.2 Hand edited Galatians 6; Matthew 5
  • v1.3 Did a search and replace to correct several hundred instances of the word "lie," which OCR tech often misreads for the word "he" and sometimes "be."
